COACH MITCH

I didn’t build this company because fitness came easy to me — I built it because I had to rebuild myself from the ground up.

I’ve been a college athlete, a United States Marine, and I’m now a full-time firefighter, husband, and father. I understand firsthand the demands this life brings — long hours, stress, responsibility, and limited time. Fitness has to fit into life, not compete with it.

The biggest turning point came when I had to start over twice after two spinal surgeries in the past five years. Those setbacks forced me to relearn everything — how to train without ego, how to progress intelligently, and how to build strength that actually lasts.

That experience reshaped how I coach.

Over the last decade, I’ve combined my degree in Exercise Science with real-world experience in military, firefighting, and civilian fitness to build a system that works when life isn’t perfect. No guessing. No random workouts. No “just push harder” mentality.

This company was built for disciplined, busy people who are tired of starting over and want structure, clarity, and accountability they can actually sustain.

I don’t coach from theory. I coach from experience.

Everything inside Defiant exists for one reason: to give you a system that holds up under pressure — and results that last.

COACH HUNT
Jeremy is a Marine Corps veteran, Phoenix firefighter, husband, and father who has lived a life forged under pressure. From combat deployments in Afghanistan to the frontlines of fire service, he’s always answered the call. But his hardest fight wasn’t in uniform — it was overcoming alcohol. On his son’s first birthday, Jeremy made the decision to get sober, a moment that became the turning point in his life and the foundation for the discipline, resilience, and leadership he lives by today.

Now, Jeremy channels that hard-earned strength into helping others rebuild their bodies, confidence, and lives. He specializes in guiding first responders, parents, and high-stress individuals to reclaim control through structure, accountability, and relentless consistency leading by example in every sense.

COACH KAHAI

Coach Kahai brings a rare blend of science, service, and athletic performance. With a B.S. in Exercise Science, 10 years in the fire service, and 6 years as a Peer Fitness Instructor training incoming recruits, he understands exactly what it takes to build strong, capable, job-ready bodies. His background includes helicopter operations, rescue work, and years spent developing functional strength for real-world demands.

As a competitive softball pitcher, combat sports athlete, and functional fitness specialist, Kahai excels in kettlebell, sled, and sandbag-based training. His coaching emphasizes dynamic movement, durability, and transferable strength — building athletes who move well, perform under fatigue, and stay resilient for the long haul.

COACH BEN
Coach Ben is the definition of calm under pressure. With over 20 years in the fire service, 13 years as a paramedic, and leadership roles including Fire Captain, Recruit Training Officer, ISO, and BC-qualified positions, he has operated where decisions matter and failure isn’t an option. His experience spans technical rescue, tactical operations, and high-risk environments that demand both physical and mental dominance.

Ben specializes in hybrid and tactical athletes building strength, conditioning, and durability that actually holds up under stress. His philosophy is simple and uncompromising: strong, conditioned, capable, and durable. Whether under load, on the move, or in prolonged operations, Ben trains bodies to perform when it counts.
